SEPTEMBER 3, 1998. Board Meeting at Villanueva Lab, 16 Lacson Street, Bacolod City.
SEPTEMBER 5, 1998. Attendance to Iloilo Metro Lions Club Indcution at Hotel del Rio, Iloilo City.
SEPTEMBER 10, 1998. General Membership Meeting at Coco Cabana Grill, Convention Plaza Hotel, Bacolod City.
SEPTEMBER 14, 1998. Region Chairman's Visitation at Chicken Etcetera Restaurant, Goldenfield Commercial Complex, Bacolod City.
SEPTEMBER 17, 1998. Board Meeting at Villanueva Lab., 16 Lacson Street, Bacolod City.
SEPTEMBER 19, 1998. Measles Immunization Project, Holy Infant Nursery, Sum-ag, Bacolod City. Forty one orphan-residents of the nursery ages 9 months to 14 years old were given free measles immunization. The project is in response to the Department of Health's anti-measles program and the declaration of the month of September as "Ligtas Tigdas" month. Doctor-members Linda de los Reyes, Lucy Iledan, IPDG Reynold Iledan and Hester Villanueva along with President Em Ang were on hand to administer the vaccination. Also present was PP Lion Ike Petero. Also held was the free medical consultation.
On the same day, the club attended the Mt. Kanla-on Lions Club's charter anniversary and induction of officers.
SEPTEMBER 20, 1998. Attendance to Bacolod Sampaguita Lions Club induction of officers.
SEPTEMBER 24, 1998. Social and Fellowship Meeting. Invited guest speaker was economist/journalist Mr. Leonardo "Boygie" Gallardo, Jr. Mr. Gallardo is president of the Bacolod Doctor Hospital's Marketing Corp, of Negros Navigation Sales Corp and of the Negros Economic Development Corporation.
SEPTEMBER 29, 1998. Donation of milk packs and vitamins and follow-up on feeding program at Purok 6, Brgy. Singcang Airport, Bacolod City.
SEPTEMBER 30, 1998. Payment of International Dues Remitted.
The club also fulfilled their monthly donations to the St. Mary's Home for the Aged and Holy Infant Nursery Foundation.
In this month, the club received the following awards: President Excellence Award for 1997-1998 conferred to Immediate Past President Lion Alan L. Ang, for his outstanding performance as club president and Monarch Awards given by Lions International to eight members namely: Lion Charter President Santi Alacapa, Leo Badrina, PP Luis Liares, IPDG Reynold Iledan, Rudy Jimenez, Roldan Sinoro, Teresito Escario and Leonardo Cabalfin.
LCIF contributing pins were presented to five members: Lion Constancio Legaspi, Manny Jalandoni, Roberto Hilado, Alfred Gochangco and Raul Florete.
OCTOBER 1, 1998. Board Meeting at Villanueva Lab.
OCTOBER 4, 1998. Lions World Service Day. The club conducted medical-dental services at E.B. Magalona town for the benefit of its senior citizens and also some indigent residents of the town's depressed areas. A total of 255 individuals availed of the services conducted by the club's teams of lion doctors.
OCTOBER 8, 1998. General membership meeting.
OCTOBER 13, 1998. Donation of furniture, used clothing and medical supplies.
OCTOBER 15, 1998. Board meeting.
OCTOBER 19, 1998. Skills training, livelihood projects at Barrio Lasolas, San Enrique, Negros Occidental. A skills training on embroidery and smocking was conducted by Lioness President Edith Colmo to some 35 residents, mostly unemployed women, of Barrio Lasolas. Materials were donated by First VP Manny Jalandoni, who owns a garment manufacturing business. When these women have already obtained the skills, the manufacturing firm of Lion Manny Jalandoni will hire them.
OCTOBER 22, 1998. Social Fellowship Meeting.
OCTOBER 24, 1998. Attendance to the Induction of Cebu Magino-o Lions Club at Baseline Restaurant, Cebu City.
OCTOBER 29, 1998. Special Board Meeting and Committee Meeting.
The club fulfilled its monthly donation of P500.00 to the St. Mary's Home for the Aged and P1,000.00 to the Holy Infant Nursery Foundation.
NOVEMBER 5, 1998. Special General Membership Meeting at Coco Cabana Grill, Bacolod City.
NOVEMBER 7, 1998. 30th Charter Anniversary and Induction of Officers and New Members, Grand Ballroom, Convention Plaza Hotel, Bacolod City. The twin clubs present in the affair were Kaoshiung Port Lions Club (Taiwan), Sodra Gard Lions Club (Degeberga, Sweden), Cebu Maginoo Lions Club, Iloilo Metro Lions Club, Bago City Host Lions Club and Dumaguete City Host Lions Club.
NOVEMBER 8, 1998. Visitation at the Holy Infant Nursery, Sum-ag, Bacolod City. Twenty one members of the club together with the fourteen members of the Kaoshiung Port Lions Club visited the Holy Infant Nursery, an orphanage being run by nuns under the supervision of the Bacolod Host Lions Club. The Holy Infant Nursery Foundation, Incs' Board of Trustees is composed mostly of BCHLC officers. The Chairman of the Foundation is Past President Dr. Wolfgang Villanueva. The Kaoshiung Port Lions donated forty thousand pesos (P40,000.00) to the Foundation.

NOVEMBER 16, 1998. Attendance to the Sagay Kabingahan Lions Club Induction, Sagay Gymnasium, Sagay City.
NOVEMBER 17, 1998. Region Chairman, Zone Chairman Visitations, Goldenfield Garden Hotel, Bacolod City.
Region VII Chairman Lion Atty. Tony Uy and Zone Chairman Lion Vangie Agaloos conducted the 2nd visitation to the different clubs under their respective areas. The visitation was attended by President Lion Em L. Ang and Secretary Jess Llamas. The different clubs discussed their respective programs, projects and activities. Problems encountered by the different clubs were also taken up and Lions in attendance gave suggestions.
NOVEMBER 19, 1998. Board Meeting, Kenbert Enterprises, Inc., Tangub, Bacolod City.
NOVEMBER 21-22, 1998. 2nd Cabinet Meeting and District Convention, Goldenfield Garden Hotel, Bacolod City. The club's bowling team participated by Lions IPDG Reynold Iledan, Jun Geronca, Manny Magadia, Roldan Sinoro, Jess Llamas, Ian Roy Llamas, Raul Florete and some Leo members, garnered 3rd place overall during the Sports Fellowship. Individual awards were garnered by the team members.
The officers, led by Lion President Em L. Ang attended the various seminars during the cabinet meeting, such as the Sight First Program, Protocol, 3K Officers and Parliamentary Procedures.
NOVEMBER 24, 1998. Alay Lakad 98 Steering Committee Meeting, Pagcor Office, Goldenfield, Bacolod City.
The annual Alay Lakad Walk for a Cause Steering Committee for 1998 has the Lions organization at the helm. Alay Lakad's funds are used for scholarship programs for out-of-school youth. Council of Lions Clubs Presidents of Negros Occidental Chairman Lion Rene Novero is this year's Alay Lakad Chairman. President Em L. Ang is appointed Finance Committee Chairman. Other club members in the steering committee are Lion PP Willy Figueroa and Lioness President Edith Colmo.
NOVEMBER 26, 1998. Social and Fellowship Meeting, Lion PP Honesto Galeno's Residence, Henrietta Village Subd., Bacolod City. Zone Chairman Lion Tony Uy of Mt. Kanlaon Lions Club made a visitation during which he gave a short talk in connection with his observations of the Bacolod City Host Lions Club. He lauded the club for its outstanding performance and enviable record for the last 30 years, having produced five (5) District Governors, and being consistently adjudged one of the most outstanding clubs in the entire district.
Six members who contributed to the LCIF were presented their contributing member pins by President Em L. Ang and PP Jun Rio, chairman on awards, during the socials and fellowship meeting. These were treasurer Ramonet Manojo, PDG Terry de los Reyes, Sony Manojo, PP Honesto Galeno, Lion Mally Legaspi and 2nd VP Mario Garbanzos.
NOVEMBER 27-30, 1998. Skills Training/ Livelihood Project, Purok Roxas, Brgy. Tangub, Bacolod City.
A skills training on smocking and embroidery was conducted by Lioness President Edith Colmo to residents, mostly unemployed women, of Purok Roxas, Brgy. Tangub, Bacolod City. The training participants were taught basic skills in embroidery and other cloth stitching and designs. Materials (cloth and thread) were donated by First VP Manny Jalandoni, who operates a garment manufacturing and export business.
At the end of the 2-day basic skills training, Lion President Em L. Ang with complete sewing kits awarded participants who made the best project.
NOVEMBER 28, 1998. Zero Waste Management Seminar, Purok Sabes, Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod City.
A joint project with the Soroptimist International-Bacolod Chapter, Zero Waste Management Seminar was conducted for the residents of Purok Sabes, Barangay Villamonte. Seminar participants were taught proper waste disposal. They were also taught how to segregate the biodegradable and non-biodegradable garbage. Biodegradable wastes are garbage, which can be turned into compost while the non-biodegradable can be recycled into several useful items. Lioness President Edith Colmo conducted the lecture in the dialect.
NOVEMBER 29, 1998. Diabetes Detection, ABES Health Center, Brgy. 3, Bacolod City.
In observance of worldwide Diabetes Prevention Month, the club conducted a Diabetes Detection project for the residents of Barangay 3, Bacolod City. The services rendered included Free Blood Sugar Testing, s well as consultation by leading diabetes specialist, Dr. Anton Martinez. Medical consultation was also conducted by IPDG Reynold Iledan, ably assisted by Lion Dr. Lucy Iledan and nurses Lion President Em L. Ang and Lion Mally Legaspi. Hypertension screening was also conducted and antihypertensive drugs were given free to patients found with high blood pressure. Multivitamins were also distributed to indigent residents, with 30 tablets each or one month supply. The multivitamins were courtesy of IPDG Dr. Iledan.
NOVEMBER 30, 1998. Alay Lakay 98 Steering Committee Meeting, Amity Conference Room, Amity Building, Hilado Street, Bacolod City.
President Lion Em L. Ang who is Finance Committee Chairman of the Alay Lakad 98 attended the 2nd steering committee meeting. Lion President Em is actively involved in the fund raising efforts of this year's campaign.
CONTINUING PROJECTS
1. Weekly Medical Consultation for residents of Holy Infant Nursery at Sum-ag, Bacolod City conducted by Lion Dr. Wolfgang Villanueva and Dr. Hester Villanueva, every Wednesday.
2. Free dental services conducted by Lion Dr. Dan Torres to residents of the Boys Home accounted for 6 extractions done at the Torres Dental Clinic, Burgos Street, Bacolod City.
3. Youth Outreach Project for the street children conducted by Lion Jun and Edith Colmo at Barangay Sum-ag every Saturday.MONTHLY DONATION
St. Mary's Home for the Aged. The club handed over its regular monthly donation in the amount of P500.00.
Holy Infant Nursery Foundation. The club handed over its regular monthly donation of P1,000.00.
